Having the good fortune of growing up in Italy-more specifically Sicily and Sardinia, I grew to literally view the world in island or archipelago forms. As such I developed an appreciation of organic forms as related to a peninsula being viewed from above.
This piece reflects the influences that come from Augusta Bay in Sicily - a common panoramic scene from our home at the time. Costa De Li Oliandri.

The intent of this piece was to reflect on a frame of reference that illustrated a magnitude of sensuality--to take the given moment. The organic forms were meant to be seductive and to instill a sense of promiscuous rebellion.
